Very similar to the Golden Globe nominees … but we already knew that was going to happen!
This morning, the nominees for this year’s Academy Awards were announced and the best of the best in Hollywood has A LOT to celebrate. From George Clooney to Meryl Streep, we don’t think there is an A-lister left out of the pool this year and rightly so — it was a GREAT year for movie. (P.S. – This marks Meryl’s 17th nomination! Crazy!)
Scorsese’s Hugo leads the pack with a whopping 11 nominations across the board, but do you know who our personal favorite nomination is? Melissa McCarthy for Bridesmaids! Yes!!! So well deserved! As was The Muppets’ nomination for “Man or Muppet” for best Original Song! We knew they would get in there somehow! And for all you Potterhead fans out there, fear not; the final film managed a nod for Art Direction, so it isn’t going completely unrecognized. (Then again, there was one more available spot to fill in the Best Picture category. Juuuuuust saying!)
