Think of Palestine and you probably don’t think about a place catering much to women’s sports.
Which is why seeing a group of girls come together to play soccer is truly an inspiration, both to their country and to people around the world!
The Palestinian national women├óΓé¼Γäós football team has been around for more than a decade, made up of players who come together for their love of the game. Politics and religion play no part in whose on the pitch – these women are teammates regardless.
Like team captain Marian Albandak: a Christian who plays midfield and defender. She passes the ball to Nevin Alkolayb, a Muslim and the only woman on the squad who wears a hijab.
There is no question, these women have skills. So much in fact, they were courageous enough to take on the boys!
In the video above, the women’s national team play a men├óΓé¼Γäós team and the final score might surprise you!
Their bravery both on the field and in their everyday lives will make you look at overcoming challenges in a completely new light!
