Panera Bread Apologizes To Georgia Family After Asking Their Disabled Daughter To Remove Her Squeaky Shoes!

It sounds like Panera Bread has some serious explaining to do!
Savannah, Georgia natives Catherine and Stephen Duke were regulars at the restaurant and were grabbing a bite with their two-year-old toddler Emma, when someone complained about her squeaky shoes!
Any employee approached the family and asked her to remove the shoes, but we’re guessing they didn’t know that the two-year old suffered a disability that made it difficult to walk, so a doctor prescribed her orthopedics that are SUPPOSED to squeak to let her know she’s walking correctly.
Catherine spoke out about the nasty incident, saying:

“It was very hurtful, and I left the store crying, not a very good thing for a mom to feel like her child is being discriminated against.”

We don’t blame you!
Needless to say, Panera Bread received TONS of negative attention because of the incident, and they apologized to the Duke family saying Emma and her squeaky shoes are ALWAYS welcome at their restaurants!
In fact, they’re even holding a fundraiser for little Emma’s medical bills by donating 50% of their proceeds on a specific night!
So far it looks like the Duke family has accepted their apology, but if you ask us they should have held out for a lifetime supply of free bread!
