This is already every family’s worst nightmare — and the heartbreaking search for an 11-year-old boy in Calgary is only growing more urgent as the days pass.
Authorities in Canada are continuing an intensive effort to find Parker Wells, an autistic, non-verbal child who disappeared last Thursday after leaving his day home. And now, as of Tuesday, the search had entered its sixth day without finding Parker — but with hundreds of officers and trained volunteers refusing to let up in their efforts.

According to CTV News and others this week, Parker vanished sometime between 11:08 and 11:41 a.m. local time back on last Thursday, eloping from a day home in the 0 to 100 block of Connaught Drive Northwest in the city — and investigators have been working nonstop ever since.
On Tuesday, Supported Lifestyles Ltd. and Responsive Children’s Supports Ltd. confirmed Parker had been in their care when he disappeared. In a statement, they said:
“Parker was in the care of one of Responsive Children’s Supports locations on July 16. Parker made a sudden exit from the property, and 911 was called in response. Staff members followed company policy and procedures and immediately went out in search of Parker.”
The organizations also expressed sympathy for Parker’s loved ones during this unimaginably painful ordeal before adding:
“We are very hopeful that Parker will soon be found safe and back with his family.”
Now, police have released a map outlining what they believe to be Parker’s movements on the day he disappeared, based on confirmed CCTV footage. Per CTV News, investigators are asking anyone in Calgary’s Thorncliffe neighborhood who may have security camera footage from that day to submit it, even if they don’t believe Parker appears in the video — because every piece of information could prove valuable.
The scale of this search is staggering. Officers say they’ve covered more than 7,000 kilometers of ground while dedicating over 5,500 hours to the investigation. They’re also using artificial intelligence to help process massive amounts of surveillance footage that would otherwise take investigators far longer to review manually.
Acting Calgary Police Service Staff Sgt. Scott Guterson emphasized that no effort is being spared, telling reporters:
“We are not giving up. This is every parent’s worst nightmare, and our hearts remain with Parker’s family as they continue to live through this incredibly difficult and heartbreaking time.”
He continued:
“A dedicated team has been working around the clock. Every tip is being thoroughly assessed, every lead is being followed and every available resource is being used.”
Guterson also thanked the public for continuing to support the investigation while urging anyone with legitimate information to come forward, saying:
“We know this case has touched people across Calgary, and we remain grateful for the support we have received from the public. We continue to ask anyone with information to come forward and to allow investigators to follow up on leads safely and effectively.”
Sadly, investigators are also dealing with a very modern obstacle.

Also on Tuesday, police publicly pleaded with people to stop creating and sharing AI-generated images, manipulated videos, and false updates claiming to be connected to Parker’s disappearance. While many people may believe they’re helping, authorities say the opposite is happening.
In a statement shared on social media, police warned:
“We ask members of the public to refrain from creating or sharing altered images, AI-generated content or unconfirmed reports about Parker. If you encounter AI-generated images, altered videos or unofficial posts claiming to provide updates on Parker, please report the content to the platform and refrain from sharing it.”
They added:
“[This material] can create confusion, spread misinformation and divert investigative resources away from credible leads.”
WTF… who would do such a thing?!
Authorities also addressed reports of people taking matters into their own hands, cautioning that unauthorized searches and confrontations with residents are making an already difficult investigation even harder. Police stated:
“This behaviour is unacceptable and is putting community members at risk. Everyone wants to find Parker, and we understand the emotions involved. But showing up at private homes, confronting residents or organizing your own investigations can hinder our efforts and draws police resources away from the search and investigation.”
At the center of all this is an 11-year-old child whose family simply wants him home safely.
FYI, Parker is described as 4 feet 11 inches tall, approximately 90 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen shirtless, wearing dark shorts and black noise-canceling headphones. Because he is neurodivergent and non-verbal, police say he may become frightened if approached by strangers.
Anyone who spots him is urged not to approach him, but instead keep him in sight and immediately call 911. Anonymous tips may also be submitted through Calgary’s Crime Stoppers.
