S Club 7 Singer Paul Cattermole Dead At 46

S Club 7 has lost a beloved bandmate.

The UK group announced on Instagram Friday that Paul Cattermole passed away at the age of 46. They wrote alongside a picture of the singer:

“We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul. There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel. We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have. He will be so deeply missed by each and every one of us. We ask that you respect the privacy of his family and of the band at this time.”

So, so sad. There are very few details known about Paul’s sudden passing, including the cause of death. However, another statement from his family revealed that he was found at his home in Dorset, England, and later pronounced dead.

The heartbreaking news came almost two months after the group – which also includes members Tina Barrett, Rachel Stevens, Jo O’meara, Hannah Spearritt, Bradley McIntosh, and Jon Lee – announced they were reuniting for an 11-date tour around Europe to mark the 25th anniversary of their formation. Bradley told BBC’s The One Show back in February:

“Obviously, we’re bringing the nostalgia. Obviously, we’re bringing the late ’90s, early [2000s], so it’s a lot of fun. It’s very positive, our music, very positive. And I think in today’s times you need a bit of positive, you need a bit of picking up, so that’s what we’re here to do.”

At this time, it’s unknown if S Club 7 will continue with the tour after Paul’s passing. Our hearts go out to his band members, family, and friends during this hard time. Rest in peace, Paul…
