Miss Tourism International Contestant Reportedly Removed Because Of Vitiligo!

A Panamanian contestant has been reportedly removed from the Miss Tourism International pageant because of her vitiligo.
On Wednesday, according to a tweet from publication Panamá AméricaPaulett Rosales participated in three rounds of competitions before she was allegedly axed by the organization’s president because of her disease, which causes the loss of skin color in blotches.

Previously, the beauty queen was crowned Miss Tourism Panama International 2018, and was chosen to represent her country in the contest held in Kualalumpur, Malaysia.
As seen on Twitter:

The model says in the video:

“Hello Panama, my name is Paulett Rosales. I’m the representative of Panama in the Miss Tourism International pageant that takes place in Kaula Lumpur. After three days of competitions, I find myself today in my room due to the fact that the President of the organization has decided that I can no longer participate because I have vitiligo.”

Despite the setback, Rosales isn’t letting negativity get to her. On Tuesday, she went on Instagram Story to say she “still believe[s] in God’s plans.”

Translation:

“I wrote these words a few days ago and through everything that I’m living right now I still believe in God’s plans for me!”

The next day, she went back on social media and told her fans to NOT “speak badly of [her] Latin colleagues” as she has “received a lot of support from them.”

Translation:

“The objective… is to ask you all not to speak badly of my Latin colleagues or to write bad comments on their accounts.  I have received a lot of support from them… And I thank you for the support I have received from you, especially for demonstrating your humanity!  With affection, Miss Paulet.”

Luckily, Rosales is receiving lots of love from those in the pageant world. Rosa Iveth Montezuma — Señorita Panamá 2018 who will represent her country at the Miss Universe 2018 competition — wrote on Insta Story (via translation):

“When we fall into stereotypes we can not see what is really beautiful, beauty is integral, it is the reflection of our hearts, in the 21st century we can not keep classifying people or deciding on the dreams of others, because it does not define you a condition, you define the desire of your heart. @ Paulettrosales.”

According to Panamá América, the Organización Señorita Panama  — who is not affiliated with the Miss Tourism International pageant — offered Rosales a ticket to the Miss Universe 2018 contest (on December 17 in Bangkok, Thailand) so “she can feel the comfort of being with her people in this difficult situation.”
We support you, Paulett!
