Kids Under 2 Shouldn't Be Watching TV

A new study from a pediatricians group states that children under the age of 2 should not be watching television. They say that there is no evidence that that toddlers benefit from from watching it and in fact, evidence suggests that it could interfere with their development.
90% of parents admit that they allows their children under 2 to watch TV. And by the age of 3, one in three children have a TV in their bedroom.
Pediatrician Dr. Ari Brown says:

“Clearly, no one is listening to this message. In this ubiquitous screen world, I think we need to find a way to manage it and make it a healthy media diet.”

Doctors suggest that instead of just putting your child in front of a television, you need to give your kids “unstructured, unplugged play,” which encourages them to be creative, logical, while also honing reasoning and motor skills.
Very true! Children need to be constantly stimulated so that their skills can develop. Using the TV as their babysitter is never a good idea.
