After nearly two years, Pennsylvania mom Kalli Atteya has finally been reunited with her son Niko!
In 2011, Niko’s father disappeared with the boy while on a trip to Egypt. Kalli later learned the entire trip was a ruse to kidnap Niko and raise him as a traditional Muslim. Kalli says:
“He said that we lack the morality and the values that their system has. And he said that Americans were so violent, he said we are a rotting society.”
Interesting point of view, coming from a KIDNAPPER!
After police were unable to help, Kalli found Niko herself with the help of a private investigator. She then came up with a daring plan!
She disguised herself in a burqa in order to get close enough and was able to make contact and spirit the boy away!
Niko said he was able to recognize his mother’s blue eyes right away!
Now the mother and son are living safe and sound in a secret location in America, happily ever after! Well, until Niko discovers teenage angst! LOLz!
What an amazing tale of bravery! Further proof that nothing can stand between a mother and her child! Way to go, Mom!
