PETA Names Morrissey UK Person Of The Year

Morrissey has been named PETA’s UK person of the year for 2011.
Morrissey, ex-lead singer of the band The Smiths, has been an activist, fighting for the animals for quite some time now.
He even named one of their albums, Meat is Murder.
So throughout his summer tour, Morrissey always made sure to have information booths with PETA volunteers ready to share knowledge and vegetarian starter kits.
When Morrissey heard he was named person of the year he immediately wrote PETA’s cofounder, Ingrid Newkirk, a letter that said:

“I am honoured beyond words to be named as PETA├óΓé¼Γäós Person of the Year! Higher praise is hard to come by! I make no sensational claims for myself├óΓé¼┬ª I simply say ├óΓé¼╦£No├óΓé¼Γäó to any form of animal suffering, and to the execution of innocent beings.”

We’re glad you’re excited!
If only the world had more people using their influence to look out for the animals.
