Where do Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt stand soon after their breakup? Unfortunately, things are “not smooth sailing” between them right now!
A new source opened up to People about the former couple on Friday. As you know, Pete and Elsie reportedly broke up five months after the birth of their daughter, Scottie Rose. While some say this may not be the end of their relationship, it doesn’t actually sound like they are getting back together anytime soon! They can’t even get along with each other at the moment, apparently! The insider explained:
“They’re not getting along right now. They were already struggling a bit while Elsie was pregnant. Things just happened so quickly between them and they didn’t know each other very well.”

Becoming parents doesn’t magically solve those problems either. Sadly, for some, it can add more strain to a relationship. And we hate to hear that Pete and Elsie ended on such bad terms with each other, especially when they have a kid involved!
The source said the two are “trying to work through” how they will “be able to co-parent.” And they would even like to be “friends” one day. But for now? It is too hard to worry about getting to that level:
“She’s not fighting Pete on seeing the baby, but it’s not smooth sailing. Ultimately they’d like to be friends and do things together, but it’s difficult to think about getting to that place right now.”
As we said, a romantic relationship between them seems out of the question for the time being. However, the source noted Pete wants to be with the mother of his child eventually:
“He’s a softie and he does want to be with the woman he has a child with. It’s not totally out of the question. The split was mutual.”
We mean, never say never! Elsie and Pete could find their way back to each other one day! The Saturday Night Live alum reportedly needs some more time to heal old wounds before getting back into a relationship, though! And if Pete and Elsie stay broken up, let’s just hope they can get on good terms for Scottie!
