Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt’s breakup was reportedly NOT a mutual decision… Oof.
Over the weekend, Elsie confirmed on TikTok that she and the stand-up comedian have officially split — just five months after welcoming their daughter — following weeks of speculation. But it reportedly was not a joint decision. Multiple insiders spoke to Rob Shuter for his Naughty But Nice Substack, where they confirmed it was Pete who made the decision to end the relationship, despite attempts made by Elsie to mend things. One insider dished:
“Elsie fought hard for this relationship. Pete was the one who decided he was done.”
Ugh, that just makes things even more heartbreaking. It would have been easier to digest if they BOTH wanted out of the relationship, but hearing that Elsie fought to fix things makes our heart hurt!

According to the insider, Elsie getting pregnant and welcoming little Scottie Rose late last year reminded Pete of how rushed their relationship was and how little they truly knew each other:
“They confused intense chemistry with long-term compatibility. They thought having a baby would be exciting and bring them closer together. The reality was the complete opposite.”
When has having a baby together EVER been the answer to relationship longevity?? How heartbreaking that Scottie will now have to grow up in a fractured household.

A second insider told the outlet:
“Pete falls in love fast — way too fast. He jumps into relationships before really thinking anything through.”
Clearly! Look at his relationship with Ariana Grande in 2018! In the span of, like, six months, they got together, got engaged, and broke up!
Sources say Pete will continue to remain involved in Scottie’s life and that he will continue to financially support her, despite Elsie claiming otherwise, but this is apparently not the ideal vision of a family life for Pete. Hopefully one day they can mend things! But for now, the Bupkis star’s mental health needs some work:
“The real problem is Pete is a deeply unhappy person. He needs to learn how to love himself before he can fully love someone else. It’s heartbreaking because now a child is involved, but honestly, this relationship never really had a chance from the beginning.”
Over the weekend, Elsie claimed in a TikTok that she now has to “work and make money” and is “doing it on my own.”
@elsiehewitt priorities ?!?!
However, sources in Pete’s camp refuted her claim, telling Page Six:
“That’s not the reality at all … [the] truth is he is actually paying for everything. Pete is doing everything to be super supportive to Elsie, he’s changed his schedule, and done everything he can to be there physically and financially so Elsie can feel supported.”
