Aww! Gandalf and his GREAT director are saying goodbye!
Peter Jackson and Ian McKellen have been working together since 1999 on The Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit trilogy. But Friday marked their final day of production on the movies.
It’s the end of an era!
After 14 years together creating the EPIC films, Peter and Ian posed for this picture. Jackson posted it to his Facebook and wrote:

“Seconds ago we finished our last shot with Gandalf. The end of an incredible adventure that began in 1999. I’m feeling very sad right now.”

It’s like we’re watching the ending of The Return of the King all over again! Faces. Soaked!
Peter had to say some other sad goodbyes last week – check out all of the dwarves gathering around to see the FINAL shots of their FINAL scene together! (below)
Orlando Bloom also wrapped up on the set last week, but he went out with a bit more laughter!
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Saug will be out in theaters this winter.
Oh boy! Oh boy! Oh boy! WHO’S EXCITED TO SEE IT???
