EXCLUSIVE! Create A Fabulous Faux Bob With This Easy Tutorial From Celebrity Hairstylist Philip Carreon!

Award season may be over, but that doesn’t mean you can’t rock red carpet-worthy tresses year round!
Philip Carreon, owner of Estilo Salon — and the magical hairstylist behind Lana Del Rey, Miguel, and Megan Fox‘s fabulous locks — is back at CocoPerez.com to give you an EXCLUSIVE tutorial on how to rock the season’s hottest tresses:
The faux bob!
Similar to the convincing ‘do Taylor Swift recently rocked at the BRIT Awards, this chic look is all about taking longer hair and giving it the illusion of a completely different cut!

Step 1: Take a section from along the part, apply a little bit of hairspray, and begin to roll it under using a curling iron. Make sure to start from the roots and clip once you’re done!

Step 2: Once you’re finished with a section, go along the crown of your head in a circle, picking up a new section and repeating Step 1. Continue rolling under in the same direction.

Step 3: Let the hair completely and thoroughly cool down so the sets are strong before taking the curls down. Then with a smoothing brush, go over the curled tresses!

Step 4: With dry texturizer, spray the hair to give it volume. Take a large section of hair and use your fingers to tease the hair! But be sure to start from the end going towards the roots!

Step 5: Once done all over, grab a section of hair one one side and split into three smaller sections, like you would when you braid your hair! A few inches into the loose braid, hold the last strand and push it up towards your roots. Wrap it under and clip to keep in place for the finishing touch!

Step 6: With all the sections braided and wrapped under, spray your comb with hairspray and begin touching up the front sections of your hair to lightly form the shape. Don’t worry about combing through your hair!

Step 7: Taking out the clip you originally used to keep your faux bob in place, fasten in a gripper bobby pin.

And voila! You’re all set and paparazzi-ready!
