While everyone else is bitching and moaning about the Yves Saint Laurent, excuse us, Saint Laurent Paris name change, there’s one at least one person who approves: Yves’ partner Pierre Berge.
Upon hearing the news, Berge said:
“I├óΓé¼Γäóm very happy. Anything that makes the house more Saint Laurent is welcome. I am happy that Stefano Pilati is gone, just as I was happy when Tom Ford left.”
Pierre is very protective of YSL’s image, so for him to say this is HUGE.
And when you think about it, it’s really not that big of a change because in 1966 Yves ready-to-wear line was originally called Saint Laurent Rive Gauche, so in a way Hedi Slimane is taking the house back to its roots.
Now that you just got schooled on some YSL history do U still hate the change???
