This cannot be a good sign!
In a new interview with People on Thursday, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos revealed he’s no longer in direct communication with Nancy Guthrie‘s family! What?!? Nanos said all direct conversations with the family are happening with the FBI now.
Wow. That says A LOT! Nanos has been very resistant to letting the FBI help in the case, but now the Guthrie family is only communicating with the FBI?? Makes you wonder if there was a big falling out with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department! Maybe worried fans aren’t the only ones losing trust in the police department?? Or, do the FBI now have more control than Nanos is willing to admit? Hmm.

As for the frustration, he added:
“The public is frustrated. Even the Guthrie family. Every passing second must feel like 100 days because they don’t know. What matters is moving forward carefully so we don’t make mistakes or falsely accuse somebody or make a bad arrest.”
Chris stressed that his team is focused on unpacking the evidence — not rushing to meet deadlines:
“There’s frustration because people want to know. But this is just like any other case. Sometimes you solve them within hours or days. Sometimes it takes a long time.”
He also hit back at Kash Patel‘s recent complaints, claiming his team’s “always had a working relationship” with the FBI, who were “with us day one” on the case. Nanos went on to insist his investigators remain focused on trying to solve the case, with a “focus” on “the tips, the leads and the evidence we have in front of us,” he explained:
“Digitally — the camera footages as well as biological, the DNA and those types of things.”
The embattled legal professional insisted:
“My team, I’ve said all along, they’re gonna solve this. I fully 100% believe that.”
We sure hope so! The family deserves answers!
