A bone has been found near Nancy Guthrie‘s home.
Amid the investigation into Savannah Guthrie‘s mom’s disappearance, news of a human bone being discovered nearby her Tucson, Arizona, home hit the world by storm on Thursday. In a statement to People, a rep for the Tucson Police Department said the bone was found on Thursday near North Craycroft Road and East River Road, which is only about seven miles from Nancy’s home.

The spokesperson confirmed, however, this bone was actually part of a “prehistoric anthropological investigation” and not tied to any sort of crime. The University of Arizona Department of Anthropology and the Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner assisted in this discovery, as well.
There are currently no new leads into the disappearance of Nancy, but it’s relieving to hear this isn’t the horrific outcome it could’ve been… We continue to wish for her safe return and for the Guthrie family to get answers.
