All right, here we go you guys. Things are getting diiiiiiiiiirty in the world of politics (though, it’s never clean!)!
Hilary Rosen claimed that Ann Romney ├óΓé¼┼ônever worked a day in her life├óΓé¼┬¥ while she was talking about Mitt Romney claiming to use Ann for advice on women and the economy, even thought her situation is VASTLY different than an average mom’s economical standing.
Those words did not fly well with people who took them as meaning that being a stay at home mom wasn’t a job (and it totally is, it’s one of the hardest!). People became outraged.
The thing is this, though — Hilary chose the wrong way of saying her point, but we feel like it was pretty easy to see regardless. She was not attacking moms for a lack of hard work, but rather she was calling attention to the fact that Ann Romney specifically can not know the kind of extra struggle that comes with trying to hold a job (or multiple jobs) while being a mother or being a single mom. Not that there wasn’t any struggle at all.
But Ann and Mitt and The Republican National Committee are running with the inferred insult anyway — because why not? Would any of us expect any less from politics? So Ann went on tv with Martha MacCallum to talk about it.
Watch the clip (above)!
PS. Hilary has since apologized to both Ann and the rest of moms out there that didn’t get the original message.
What do U guys think? Is Ann making mountains out of molehills, or does Hilary deserve all this flak??
