Reaction continues to pour in after the horrifying terror attacks in Paris on Friday night.
On Saturday morning, Catholic religious leader Pope Francis said during a telephone interview with the Italian Bishops’ Conference that the attacks amount to a “piecemeal Third World War.”

It’s not the first time the Pope has made a similar remark regarding terrorism in today’s society, and he has always put emphasis on the word piecemeal — essentially, unsystematic partial measures taken over time.
The Pope added:
“There is no religious or human justification for it.”
Back in September, at a commemoration even for World War I in Slovenia, the Pope said at the time:
“Even today, after the second failure of another world war, perhaps one can speak of a third war, one fought piecemeal, with crimes, massacres, destruction.”
And now, after Friday’s horrifying terror, the idea remains on the forefront, at least for Pope Francis.
