Savannah Guthrie has not given up hope on finding answers about her mother Nancy‘s disappearance.
The Today Show host shared an emotional new message proving as much on Sunday via her Instagram Story. An image of a painting of Jesus Christ‘s ascension read:
“Oh my, my soul it cries out, soul, it cries out”

She captioned it:

The journalist opened up more about how she’s feeling amid the continued (and frustrating) investigation when joining her pal Jenna Bush Hager on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle Monday morning. She told the co-host through tears:
“First of all, I can’t really even look at you every day without crying. You are my best friend. You know, it’s really hard to come back. I’ve been trying so hard to hold it together, and I promise I will.”
While Savannah’s felt supported by the entire NBC community, she acknowledged she feels the most seen by Jenna:
“When I see you in the morning, I know you see me, no matter what is going on. And sometimes that’s almost too much because I feel like to do the job I gotta keep it together, pull it together. But I’m happy to be back. It’s like the two hours of my day — it’s not that I’m not thinking about it, because I am, but it’s something to do and it brings me a lot of joy to be with everybody. But, no, it’s not easy.”
We cannot imagine how difficult it must be to carry on after such a horrific nightmare.
While hosting the Today Show has been a “little respite” in her day, she’s never not thinking about the 84-year-old:
“It’s always with me. I cry every morning on the way to work, and I cry every morning on the way home. And I’m grateful to have good friends and to be able to come to such a beautiful and joyous and supportive place. Like so many people out there, you can hold all of these things together. I try to tell my kids that too. We can hold our sadness and we can hold our joy. And if you don’t believe it, just watch me.”
The media personality went on:
“I know maybe people wonder, ‘Whoa, what’s going on? How’s she able to do that job? Is she not thinking about it? Did she forget?’ No, never. Never.”
And she doesn’t want viewers to forget either, she urged:
“We still need everybody’s prayers. I wish someone would call and say what they know and tell the truth.”
That would be the best news we’ve heard in a long time! Fingers crossed that call comes in one day.
