Obama Sends His Condolences To Heavy D's Funeral

Heavy D’s funeral took place today in Mount Vernon, NY, and President Barack Obama took the time to send his condolences in the following letter, which was read by Rev. Al Sharpton at the service:

“We extend our heartfelt condolences at this difficult time. He will be remembered for his infectious optimism and many contributions to American music. Please know that you and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.”
