Looks like the heads of Lloyd Klein are finally fed up with all the news surrounding their company not paying employees or treating them fairly.
So President John Arguelles, pictured above on the right, has just issued a statement regarding the whole issue.
Says Arguelles:
“Friday September 10th, 2010, Meredith Meyers, a temporary at the Lloyd Klein House of Couture was asked to leave the company├óΓé¼Γäós premises due to continued disruptive behavior at a general company meeting. Meyer├óΓé¼╦£s left the building as requested but neglected to return the company├óΓé¼Γäós keys and as of Sept 17, 2010 has not returned them.
Among her claims:
FALSEHOOD: Meredith Myers claims the entire staff quit and walked out following her departure.
TRUTH: a total of 5 people left and 5 remained, 2 others were not in attendance.
FALSEHOOD: Meredith Myers naively claims that Lloyd Klein re labels merchandise from labels carried in-store and marks it up 3 times.
TRUTH: Since announced in July, Lloyd Klein Couture has proudly and publicly carried 6 new lines of merchandise including the most recent addition of Theia from Canada, among others. As is standard, the company adds its own additional label to all merchandise sold through the designer multi label department in what is considered clever co-op branding and does not remove and elements from the garments with the exception of original inventory reference. (Please reference the attached press release sent in early August announcing the new department.) Ms. Meyers whose duties as an admin temp were mainly connected with answering phones filing and arranging schedules for the company does not understand that wholesale costs are marked up on the average of 2.5 for domestic goods and 3.0 for imporated goods to meet MSRP. This is standard retail.
FALSEHOOD: Myers insinuates that the company president had no idea of the expected return date of the Mr. Klein.
TRUTH: not knowing with certainty whether the designer would return in 7 or possible 12 days is not the same as knowing nothing…
TRUTH: The only truth that Myers has spread is that Lloyd Klein does in deed have a spectacular following of celebrity clients however the correct price range is $3,000 – $9,000.”
And there you have it.
