Now, the tune Baltimore is released on SoundCloud, which according to a spokeswoman for the singer:
“Addresses the unrest in Baltimore and the socio-political issues around the country in the wake of a slew of killings of young black men.”
Last month, Freddie Gray died from a spinal cord injury while in police custody, igniting protests and riots in the city of Baltimore. Though the song is a call for peace and reflection, the singer declares in the lyrics:
“If there ain’t no justice then there ain’t no peace.”
