What Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Think About That 'Disaster Tourist' Label After Volunteering During LA Fires!

Harry & Meghan Find 'Disaster Tourist' Label For Their Presence At LA Fires 'Offensive'

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are super irritated after being called “disaster tourists” while visiting those impacted by the Los Angeles wildfires.

If you missed it, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were seen volunteering and visiting with those impacted by fires late last week. They were quickly slammed by actress Justine Bateman, who called the whole appearance “a repulsive ‘photo op’” and claimed they were “no better than ambulance chasers,” adding:

“They are ‘touring the damage’? Are they politicians now? They don’t live here; they are tourists. Disaster Tourists.”

Oof.

While the Suits alum was born and raised in El Lay, she currently lives about 80 miles away in Montecito. As you can imagine, the royals were NOT pleased with the new label from Jason Bateman‘s sis, a source told Page Six on Monday:

“It’s offensive to Meghan and Harry that anybody would think this is merely a photo opportunity.”

No s**t, Sherlock. We don’t think anyone would like that title!

Elaborating on why this was so frustrating for them, the source continued:

“Meghan was born and raised in Los Angeles so this is, and always will be, home to her.”

According to the confidant, the mother of two is “not just a tourist” and “her heart is completely broken for all the lives that have been lost and for those whose homes have been destroyed in these fires.”

They also insisted this wasn’t a photo op while adding that the couple has “invested significant time and resources, they have donated money and essential items.” The source noted:

“They have also dedicated countless hours to volunteering, long before the media even caught wind of their involvement.”

Before stepping out in public, Meghan announced last weekend that she chose to postpone the release of her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, which was supposed to premiere this Wednesday. It will now come out in early March. The duo also shared tons of resources on their website while reportedly opening their home to displaced friends. So, they do seem to understand the seriousness of this situation.

Reactions?! Do U agree with Justine or think this label was offensive? Tell us in the comments (below)!
