Of course, following the birth details, a name announcement was expected to follow — and follow it did! Per Kensington Palace, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have named their third kiddo…
Louis Arthur Charles!
What a beautiful name. According to a statement by the Palace, the young royal will be referred to as His Royal Highness Prince Louis of Cambridge:

Awwwwwww.
While there were rumors that the little one would be named Albert, we think the new moniker is just perfect. In case you were unaware, both Louis and Arthur make up a part of Prince William’s full name, William Arthur Philip Louis. Not to mention, Prince Louis’ third name of Charles is likely in honor of Prince Charles, Queen Elizabeth II‘s heir apparent (and the kiddo’s grandpa).
Another indication that the third royal baby was named for the Prince of Wales is that, Charles’ beloved great-uncle, Earl Louis Mountbatten was assassinated by the IRA in 1979. What a nice tribute!
Congrats again to the Windsors!
