Prince William and Kate Middleton are on the second day of their “most complex” tour of all time.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are currently in Pakistan, having arrived late Monday night for the official royal visit, which was apparently made at the request of the British government.

Kensington Palace issued a statement before the trip, explaining:
“This is the most complex tour undertaken by (the duke and duchess) to date, given the logistical and security considerations. Pakistan hosts one of Britain’s largest overseas networks, with the British High Commission in Islamabad being one of the United Kingdom’s largest diplomatic missions in the world.”
This is Will and Kate’s first time ever in the country, which is in the midst of growing tension with neighboring India.
However, at least one member of the royal family visited the nation — multiple times: Will’s mother, Diana, Princess of Wales.

Di’s visits to the country had quite the impact; she is still remembered fonldy there nearly three decades on.
Will and Kate visited the Islamabad Model College for Girls, where they met with kindergarten, fourth grade, and A level students, whom they encouraged to continue their education. Sadly, only 49% of women graduate in Pakistan.
During the event, Will was told the girls were “big fans of your mother,” to which he smiled and replied:
“You were, really? Oh, that’s very sweet of you. I was a big fan of my mother too.”
Awwww!
He continued:
“She came here three times. I was very small. This is my first time and it is very nice to be here and meet you all.”
He really is following in her footsteps… One hopes this visit will be remembered so fondly by the next generation.

Will and Kate also met with Pakistan’s President, Dr. Arif Avi, and had lunch with Prime Minister Imran Khan — who was a personal friend of Diana’s.
Long before he was PM, Imran was a famous cricket player whose wife at the time, Jemima Khan, was very close with Di.
