We kid, we kid. Their hats have nothing to do with this. Actually, funds are low and the palace doesn’t feel it is necessary to give the girls 24/7 protection that costs them ├é┬ú500,000 annually.
As of this week, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie will no longer have bodyguards at their sides at all time. The daughters of Prince Andrew, who are considered two of the most high-profiled members of the royal family, will now only receive protection from royal guards during royal affairs due to the excessive cost of keeping guards hired for them.
However, Prince Andrew is furious over this decree, as he believes his girls, who are fifth and sixth in line to the throne, should be treated differently from other minor royals because they are constantly in the public eye and he fears for their safety. However, the palace argues that the girls are no different that their cousin Zara Phillips and she receives no protection at all on a day-to-day basis.
What’s good for one should be good for all…except Catherine the Duchess Of Cambridge, of course! Bet when she and Prince William come to Hollywood, they’ll have every guard in the force with them!
