Princess Catherine sounds like a dream big sis!
On Wednesday, while promoting his new book, Meet Ella: The Dog Who Saved My Life, Kate’s younger brother James Middleton opened up about what it’s like to be her sibling! While chatting with Us Weekly, the author insisted the 42-year-old hasn’t changed a bit since entering the royal family, he expressed:
“Catherine is very much on a public stage and I’m in awe of a lot of the things she does. I think the thing I’m most proud of is that she’s still the same person that I grew up with.”
That’s always nice to hear — and not always the case after people get famous, as we know too well!
In his book, James reflected on how Kate and their sister Pippa Middleton, 41, were like second mothers to him, people he could turn to for advice and who always included him, even though he was younger and the only boy. He wrote:
“They never dismissed me as their little squirt of a brother who wasn’t worthy of their attention. On the contrary, they let me join in their games and included me in their friendships — they still do to this day.”
Even as they got older and s**t started to hit the fan, this remained the same!

When James hit a rough patch in his life and was dealing with mental health struggles and suicidal thoughts in 2017, the Princess of Wales was by his side, he told Us:
“Catherine had been doing a lot of work with Heads Together, so there was actually more awareness of how to communicate.”
He said both sisters “were fantastic in supporting my parents through that as well.” Amazing!
So, how does he feel about Prince William?? If he’s so close with Kate, it must’ve been hard to share her with a new man! But thankfully, William quickly became like another member of the family to him. James said the lovebirds are “so clearly a good fit, just right for each other,” adding:
“I wanted one day to experience what they were experiencing as a couple.”
Over the years, he’s grown super close to the heir, the 37-year-old dished:
“Having been brought up…with strong, capable women surrounding me, I’ve enjoyed having this older brother-type figure to bounce questions [off of]. I’m just incredibly grateful that [Kate and William] have been supportive of me over these years as well.”
Aww! Love it!
Despite some issues with Meghan Markle, Kate’s often had a reputation of being a thoughtful, kind, family-oriented person. It’s nice to hear that hasn’t changed since she became royalty!
