Priscilla Presley is shutting down feud rumors!
As Perezcious readers know, for months now, sources have claimed Elvis Presley‘s ex-wife was fighting with her granddaughter Riley Keough amid an ongoing battle for control of Lisa Marie Presley‘s estate. But apparently, there’s NO bad blood.
Earlier this week, the matriarch was in the UK for An Evening to Remember With Priscilla Presley, an event that gave about 30 fans the chance to score a meet-and-greet with the Christmas at Graceland star. ET caught up with one of the lucky attendees, Jackie Howse, who had a ton of tea to spill!
On Thursday, Jackie revealed Priscilla was in great spirits at the event, saying:
“She was absolutely lovely. [I] wasn’t 100 percent sure what to expect … she was very softly spoken, very gracious. She really did make me feel comfortable.”
During the event, all those at the meet-and-greet were given a “special surprise” — an autographed book — and given the chance to chat with the star in a lengthy Q&A. The fan continued:
“She came across as very gracious, a very lovely lady and very much like she cared about you and she didn’t come across all, you know, ‘I’m a celebrity’ kind of thing.”
Howse recalled offering her condolences to the 77-year-old following the loss of her daughter in January, a kind gesture that led Priscilla to get teary and emotional.
When the show started, Jackie said lots of home videos were shown on screen while the Naked Gun alum shared stories of her life, including her experience visiting a psychic last year with the purpose of speaking to the King of Rock and Roll. She said she was able to see Elvis’ spirit walking down the steps that led to the pool at her house after the interaction.
Surprisingly, Priscilla even addressed the supposedly heated feud between her and Riley — which she claims isn’t true at all! Debunking the rumors, the actress insisted the pair went to dinner before she jetted to the UK:
“[Priscilla] just said, ‘You know, I went to dinner with [her] before I came [here]. She said, ‘Everything’s good.'”
As for the fallout, she noted:
“That’s not the case at all.”
Priscilla was adamant that everything was fine in the family, despite what many reports have claimed, adding:
“They [the rumors] weren’t true. It was very brief, but she just said, ‘Don’t believe what’s been said. […] Riley and I get along well.'”
Interestingly, this wasn’t the only time Riley’s name came up! Elsewhere during the show, Priscilla became emotional when discussing the 33-year-old’s success with her new Prime Video series, Daisy Jones & The Six, Howse recalled:
“She came across as being very proud. She’d actually said, ‘I am really proud of her. Really proud of what she’s achieved.’ You could see it in the face, how proud she was with the family.”
It’s nice to know this feud may not have been all it was cracked up to be. The Presleys have suffered so much loss already, we’d hate to see a legal battle tear these women apart. Also, this fan’s story matches up with what Priscilla’s son Navarone Garibaldi said on Instagram earlier this week. So, it seems true!
That said, Priscilla is still very much contesting a 2016 amendment to Lisa Marie’s will, which replaced her and her daughter’s former business manager, Barry Siegel, as co-trustees of her estate with Riley and her late brother, Benjamin Keough, leaving Riley as the sole heir. It doesn’t seem like the relatives are going to be out of the woods until the battle is over. Thoughts? Let us know (below)!
