Things got intense at D4vd‘s preliminary hearing on Thursday.
It’s still not been decided just yet if the singer, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, will go to trial for murder. But if he does, this private investigator could cause a problem for the case! On Thursday, prosecutor Beth Silverman called out a PI in court, reminding the judge that he was present during the grand jury testimony.
Why does this matter? Well, if D4vd does go to trial for the murder of Celeste Rivas, then the PI could be used as a witness later in the case. And potential witnesses aren’t allowed at preliminary hearings. So the judge kicked the investigator out!

Not only that, Silverman reportedly called out Celeste’s family’s attorney, too. She told the judge that Patrick Steinfeld did speak to the PI. Steinfeld said he or the PI didn’t realize they were breaking any rules by chatting, and he didn’t know the investigator was a potential witness. Silverman threatened to get him kicked out, too, if he messed up like this again!
Lots of tension in court this week, no doubt. And not the kind of mix-up you want to hear about in such a high-profile, important case. Reactions, Perezcious readers?
