Queen Camilla wasn’t excited for Prince William to get married to Princess Catherine!
According to Christopher Andersen‘s new book, Kate! The Courage, Grace, and Power of the Woman Who Will be Queen, Camilla didn’t always like the idea of her stepson getting married to Kate Middleton. In fact, the author claims she was one of the future Princess of Wales’ “fiercest critics”! Damn!
The new book claims, per Page Six on Tuesday:
“She did not think she was up to snuff, as it were. She was below the salt. She had no aristocratic blood.”
Ouch!
And despite how Camilla allegedly “always saw herself as the mistress of a king, not a queen,” she believed “the palace didn’t really want” Catherine in on their royal matters:
“People like Camilla didn’t want her because they felt that she was too common to be the wife of a future king.”

The book even says she “did object” to the wedding and disliked Kate’s “working-class roots”:
“[Camilla] was very cognizant of the fact that a future king of England should have, she believed, a marriage to a royal personage, or at least a British aristocrat, [not] a descendant of coal miners whose mother had grown up in public housing and once worked as a flight attendant.”
OMG!
The author said in the book that Camilla believed Catherine’s mom Carole Middleton to be a “gauche opportunist” and that she “knew a schemer when she saw one.” Jeez…
Obviously, William did end up marrying Catherine, but we seriously can’t imagine all the tension that was behind the scenes if Camilla was really acting like this! Reactions, Perezcious readers?
