R. Kelly has kept relatively silent since allegations of him leading a “sex cult” broke in February 2017.
Now, he’s finally confessing a number of his “sins” — and it only took 19 minutes!
On Monday, the disgraced R&B star dropped a nearly 20-minute single called I Admit, in which he addressed the slew of claims that have been made against him over the course of his career.

Early on in the song, the 51-year-old admits that he has trouble reading — “I can’t spell for shit I admit that all I hear is hits (ohh)” — and how he couldn’t read the words on the teleprompter at the Grammys one year.
But he later discusses the more serious allegations. After fully admitting to having multiple girlfriends, Kelly gets real abstract on the concepts of “cults” and “sex slaves,” singing:
“What’s the definition of a cult? / What’s the definition of a sex slave? / Go to the dictionary, look it up / Let me know I’ll be here waiting… Say I’m abusing these women. What the fuck? That’s some absurd shit. They brainwashed, really? Kidnapped, really? Can’t eat, really? Real talk that shit sounds silly.”
Hmm, guess he can’t read the definition of a cult either??
Further in the song, Kelly directly calls out Jim Derogatis (or, “whatever you name is”), the Buzzfeed journalist who published the first exposé on the alleged cult:
“To Jim DeRogatis, whatever your name is (whatever your name is) / You been tryna destroy me for 25 whole years (25 whole years, yeah) / Writin’ the same stories over and over against (stories, stories, yeah) / Off my name, you done went and made yourself a career (a whole career) / But guess what? I pray for you and family, and all my other enemies (prayed for you, enemies).”
As we said, the song goes on and on. I Admit also addresses of the singer’s affinity for the ladies — “that’s both older and young ladies (ladies, yeah)” — being muted by Spotify, “touched” by a family member when he was younger, and so much more.
Based on the Twitter response, few have gotten through the entire 19-minute ordeal, as most can’t get past the incriminating title of the song.
Take a look at some reactions and, if you dare, listen to the full song (below).
I saw R. Kelly trending and figured he finally got arrested and I can’t believe I’m still that naive

I just read the lyrics to R Kelly’s new 19 minute song called “I Admit It I Did It.” His lack of self awareness is atrocious. There are several lyrics I take offense to. The one I will address is “I’m just a man.” I am also a man. I would never use that to defend this behavior.

I know it’s wrong to laugh but I’m dying at R. Kelly saying “I admit a family member touched me” and then added “touched me, touched me, touched me” as ad-libs after. The ad-libs really diminished the seriousness of the line.

Also R. Kelly less than 5 mins later: I have sex with young women.
