Rachael Ray is opening up about suffering a few “bad falls.”
The cooking connoisseur’s health has been at the forefront of fans’ minds ever since she posted a video last month where she was seemingly “slurring” her words. It’s a clip from her show Rachael Ray in Tuscany, and she recalls having the late Tony Bennett over for dinner. And it didn’t take long for fans to start dissecting it and bombarding the 56-year-old with questions about her well-being:
“I love you but are you ok? I’m seriously concerned”
“Rachel is in a bit of trouble?! I hope someone is just as concerned as I am?”
“Is she slurring or am I slurring”
Others, however, thought maybe she was either just drinking a bit of wine or possibly overcome with emotions while reflecting on her memories with Tony. You can watch the clip (below):
More than a month has passed now, and the Food Network alum has now accidentally given fans more reason to worry!

In the debut episode of her new I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead podcast, Rachael opened up to guest Jenny Mollen about how she loves “chores” and being a “homemaker” and the “physical” requirements they demand:
“I am a homemaker, I love chores, I love being in the kitchen. I always work with my brain everyday, I’m always writing something. But I really like chores! I like what people consider physical work — I like making dinner, planning dinners, making lists, I love physical labor.”
She specifically named “helping carry in the wood” for fires as one of her fave chores — but then made an eerie confession that she hasn’t been able to do so in “a while” because of some scary falls! She told Jenny:
“I’ve had a couple of bad falls in the last couple of weeks so I haven’t been doing that in a while.”
Whoa! “A couple of bad falls”? Just out of nowhere? Or is something going on? Could those falls have been connected to what fans perceived to be slurred speech? Is there a bigger health issue going on that Rachael isn’t ready to go public with yet?
We obviously respect her privacy if that’s what she wants, but she has to understand, giving the world little peeks with a podcast and cooking clips isn’t how you get privacy. It only creates far more concern!
As of now it’s not clear as she didn’t expand with any other details, but we hope she’s okay! You can hear her talk about it (below):
