This is absolutely incredible!
10-year-old Paul Ezekial Fagan had been missing for 14 hours when his grandma — whom he lives with — called the police to find him.
They searched all around the neighborhood with dogs and helicopters, through a rainstorm in the night, but they came up with nothing!
Then, moments after reporter Cameron Polom did a segment on the disappearance, he found the boy!
Polom decided to walk around the neighborhood with a cameraman for a little while, when the boy came out of the bushes at a neighbor’s house, looking dirty and nervous, at around 7am on Friday.
After asking the boy his name, Polom picked him up over the fence, and walked him back to his grandma’s house where there was lots of rejoicing!
Polom explained that Paul said he simply wanted some time away from his younger brother, and just took a little “cat nap,” but that he was also scared because he knew he was in trouble.
As for why Paul revealed himself to Polom and not the police, the reporter explained that Paul described him to his family as “the skinny
guy in a suit,” adding:
“Look, I’m not a guy who’s walking around with a gun on my hip. I don’t have a badge on my chest. Maybe he just wasn’t afraid to come up to me├óΓé¼┬ª I was just in the right place at the right time. I wasn’t out there all night looking for him like the deputies were. Those guys did all the work. I just happened to be there at the right time.”
So many times stories of missing children do not end well, so we’re very glad things all worked out here!
