Well, you don’t make fun of Angelina Jolie, Charlie Sheen, Hugh Hefner, Mel Gibson, God, Tom Cruise and the current head of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association in one shot without some kind of punishment!
Last night, Ricky Gervais hosted the Golden Globes for the second and most likely the last time. Sources are reporting this his jokes didn’t go over very well with the HFPA, especially the jabs made at Philip Berk. One member of the HFPA confessed to sources:
“Ricky will not be invited back to host the show next year, for sure. For sure any movie he makes he can forget about getting nominated. He humiliated the organization last night and went too far with several celebrities whose representatives have already called to complain.”
Wowza! This is pretty serious. Granted, we found some of the things he said to be a little over-the-top, but c’mon, isn’t that the point?!
We guess not, as another insider pointed out:
“Ricky blew it big time. It’s one thing to make fun of celebrities but it’s another to make them totally uncomfortable. People in that room were furious but had to sit and smile because the camera’s were on them. It really says something when several people who attended said they would have felt safer with Kathy Griffin hosting.”
You hear that Kathy! There’s an opening! Jump on this fast, bb!
