Rihanna Opens Up About Being Betrayed By Her Own Father

This is truly so, so sad.
Rihanna recently gave a heartbreaking, tearful interview in which she revealed that she no longer has a relationship with her father, Ronald Fenty, because he has repeatedly exploited his relationship with his own daughter to ca$h in on her fame, by speaking out and selling photos of her to various media outlets!
She explains:

├óΓé¼┼ôIt really makes me question what I have become to my father. Like, what do I even mean to him? It├óΓé¼Γäós really strange. That├óΓé¼Γäós the only word I can think of to describe it, because you grow up with your father, you know him, you are a part of him, for goodness├óΓé¼Γäó sakes! And then he does something so bizarre that I can├óΓé¼Γäót begin to wrap my mind around it. You hear the horror stories about people going behind people├óΓé¼Γäós backs and doing strange things, but you always think, ‘Not my family. My father would never do that to me.’ [After being assaulted by Chris Brown] That was the first time. My dad went to the press and just told them a bunch of lies. Because he hadn├óΓé¼Γäót talked to me after├óΓé¼┬ªthat whole thing├óΓé¼┬ª.he never called to find out how I was doing, if I was alive, nothing. He just never called. He went straight to the press and got a check. And now he does it again. Now I├óΓé¼Γäóm like, ‘Whatever, I tried.’├óΓé¼┬¥

Unbelievable. And she really captures exactly why that kind of behavior from someone’s own parent is so deplorable!
Poor thing. He should be absolutely ashamed of himself for treating his child like that – and after everything she went through!
Just remember how far you’ve come, gurl, and as sad as it is, keep yourself surrounded by the people you can actually count on, not the people that you SHOULD be able to count on!
Keep that head up, and keep doing what you’re doing!
