Robert Pattinson's Secret To Surviving Movie Sets? Yelp Reviews For SEX SHOPS!

Robert Pattinson is well informed on sex shops

Believe it or not, it can get a bit boring on movie sets; especially when those sets are in remote Nova Scotian fishing villages and you have no one to talk to besides Willem Dafoe and a difficult seagull.

Luckily for Robert Pattinson, he found a way to pass the time while filming his latest movie The Lighthouse: reading the riveting Yelp reviews for two local sex shops!

On Tuesday’s episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers, the actor explained the area where he shot the nautical psychological horror film was known for having two sex shops locals apparently couldn’t get enough of.

He recalled to Seth Meyers

“There were two pretty highly-frequented sex shops. Which I was — someone was telling me about — I went before the show, I tried to kind of find — ‘cause I’d sort of pass the time by looking at Yelp reviews and so many people used to write these Yelp reviews. And this is a town of maybe 400 people — well, maybe a little more than 400. But I could meet these people in the local shop if I wanted to.”

Well, that explains why there was so much sexual tension in the film… LOLz!

The new Batman went on to say he planned to read the Yelp reviews for Seth’s audience, but, alas, they are no longer available. He admitted:

“But then I tried to look up to find some funny stories for this, and I couldn’t find any of the reviews. They’ve all been taken down. And there’s just a few people who have just checked in on Facebook. What’s up, Annabelle W.?”

Hmm… maybe it was all in his head??

The Twilight alum didn’t say if he purchased anything from either sex shop, but he did reveal he went to a neighboring store and picked up a “lobster-fisherman outfit” that didn’t work for him at all when he got back to El Lay.

He explained:

“I was thinking whilst I was in Yarmouth that they looked like — ‘Oh, these are like ‘90s Yohji, kind of stuff.’… To be very particular about my fashion, when I came out to L.A. wearing, like, full-on bright yellow waterproof fisherman outfits. And it was just — they are designed for fishing… Didn’t work at all.”

He told Seth he looked like “a hazmat Paddington bear.” Ha!

Should’ve read those Yelp reviews first, Rob!!
