Uh oh, film school kids! Looks like you’ll have to let Robert Pattinson into your world.
R-Patz has landed the lead role in David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis, based on the Don DeLillo novel.
He’ll star as Eric Packer, a “financial wunderkind” who “risks his entire fortune to bet against the yen on a tumultuous day.” His actions also put his life at risk, in this film which takes place in a “slightly futuristic metropolis.”
Knowing Cronenberg’s previous films, we’re wondering if any of the following will happen to R-Patz in Cosmopolis:
– Will he have a naked fight scene, like Viggo Mortensen in Eastern Promises?
– Will he turn into a fly, like Jeff Goldlbum in The Fly?
– Will his head explode, like in Scanners?
Given some of the director’s recent work, we’re thinking this one MIGHT be a bit more low key, but we’re def intrigued!
