The costumes are very cool. The cigarettes? Yeah, not so much!
Jenni ‘JWoww’ Farley had been making news pretty much every day recently for all of her controversial moments on Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, but it’s her ex-husband Roger Mathews who seems to be taking all the real-world heat this time!

The former reality co-star opted to dress up the ex-couple’s two children, five-year-old Meilani and three-year-old Greyson, in Grease-inspired leather outfits that are SERIOUSLY super cute!
There’s just one little problem, as you can see (below) — both of the (very underage) children have cigarettes in their mouths!
Ummm, WTF?!
Roger shared with the world a slideshow of the best pics and videos from the kids’ time dressed as Danny Zuko and Sandy Olsson, and while we’re sure John Travolta and Olivia Newton John must be super proud of the set-up… we keep coming back to those cigarettes!!!
They’re clearly phony costume cancer sticks — note the lack of smoke coming from them — but the optics are SO BAD!
Mathews must have known it was going to be an issue, too, because in the caption of his Instagram gallery, he even wrote (below):
“Never was there a better Danny Zuko and Sandra D [sic]. Grease came to New Hope Railroad. Please comment on the fake cigarettes so I can block you. Please. They nailed the role and if you don’t get it you most certainly would never get us. #Peace”
So clearly, Roger knew this was going to be a problem with followers who saw the fake cigs in these kids’ mouths, and he went ahead and did it anyways. Hmm…
It’s a shame, too, because both cute kids were on point with their character impressions! At one point in one of the videos in that slideshow (above), Meilani looks at the camera and does the most perfect Sandy impression, saying, “Tell me about it, stud.” So funny!!!
Backlash Comes For Roger!
Clearly, fans weren’t as enthused about the presence of the phony cigarettes, though. Here are a few of the comments:
“Much respect my friend but you could have done this without the cigarettes bro. As a smoker I don’t think it was a good idea.”
“Come on, ur a f**king dad, aren’t u supposed to keep them away from cancer?”
“Fake or not, I don’t understand your stance on wanting to encourage the use of a cigarette for a child’s costume. It doesn’t make or break the costume, it’s just immature.”
Great point!
Honestly we don’t even think about the smoking when we picture these characters in our minds.
We presume, based on his warning (above), that Roger went and actually blocked all these people like he said he would. Must’ve made for a busy day, because there are DOZENS of comments questioning Roger’s parenting choices!
