We expected Roseanne‘s racist display on Twitter to get backlash from regular folks with a conscience — but we’ve become sadly accustomed to a lack of real consequences for this kind of behavior.

But now ABC has actually taken a stand and CANCELED the revival! In a statement, ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said:
“Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show.”
Remember, this is a hit show we’re talking about! It premiered to fantastic ratings and ended up the #1 scripted primetime show of the season among the 18-49 demo, making it clear ABC’s decision was purely a moral one!
Now if only Congress could be as brave as a TV network…
