Well, there was peace between these feuding ladies for a little bit.
But now that it’s rumored Rosie O’Donnell is returning to The View, Elisabeth Hasselbeck is putting her two cents in.
Despite being on vacation, Elisabeth called into the show where she now co-hosts, Fox & Friends, to discuss what is apparently heartbreaking news to her.
She started with:
“What could ruin a vacation more than to hear news like this?”
Whoa! That seems like a bit of an extreme reaction. We can think of lots of things that could ruin a vacation more.
Perhaps a horrible natural disaster? Or a serious accident involving a loved one? Not necessarily hearing your arch nemesis is returning to a show you’re no longer on.
But still, Elisabeth is pissed and had to explain why:
“Here in comes to The View the very woman who spit in the face of our military, spit in the face of her own network, and really in the face of a person who stood by her and had civilized debates for the time that she was there, coming back with a bunch of control ready to regain a seat at the View table.”
But that’s not all. It seems reuniting with Rosie at Barbara Walters‘ retirement show rubbed Elisabeth the wrong way:
“I’ll go back to the reunion show for [Barbara Walters]. How odd is this, when you have the woman, who again, insinuated that our own troops were terrorists in Iraq at the time, then left the show…to have such ease the day of Barbara’s goodbye show was shocking to me? She walked around with a lot of control and I had the chance to talk to her. Rosie herself told me, on-set, while we were mic’ed up, that she produced the reunion show to have everybody together and it was her idea. Now, would you think that the woman who left in the way that she did would be producing Barbara’s goodbye show? Here’s the shocker: it was actually her hello show.”
And while Elisabeth most certainly isn’t friends with Rosie, she does have some advice for her:
“I don’t think it would be wise for Rosie O’Donnell to challenge Whoopi Goldberg on anything. I really don’t.”
Well, we know one person who won’t be tuning in to watch if Rosie comes back, but we’re sure there will be many viewers clicking to ABC if they bring back the fiery co-host!
