In regards to the absolutely horrible murder of 17 year old Trayvon Martin, there are some people who should just keep their mouths shut!
First up?
TV host Geraldo Rivera.
Even after apologizing for blaming Trayvon’s “gangsta style” hoodie as the reason why he was targeted for senseless murder, Geraldo is still getting backlash from people. Hell, even his friends aren’t even standing by his side!
Longtime friend and music industry giant Russell Simmons took to his website, writing:
“Geraldo, your apology is bull—! Your apology is nothing but a defense of a racist, backward thing you already said. And I am a yogi, and I generally don’t speak like this, but I have to say it like it is. It is a non-apology apology that continues to blame the victim for their appearance.”
Russell speaks the TRUTH!
Simmons goes on to blast Rivera, saying:
“It’s like telling women not to wear skirts because they could get raped. That’s what you just did. It’s freaking horrible. It’s inexcusable. And you’re my friend, my friend for many years. I have a great amount of respect for you, but zero respect for your apology and for what you said.”
Any respect we had for Rivera has been thrown out the same window Russell used!
We are glad he didn’t stick up for his friend in this case because Geraldo is so SO wrong!!
