Ryan Reynolds Reveals The Exact Moment He Knew Blake Lively Was The One & Talks The Cliché Of Their 'Real American Family'

Ryan Reynolds is just one of GQ's Men of the Year!
Ryan Reynolds
and Blake Lively are very much about keeping their private lives private.
As you may or may not know, the couple welcomed their second daughter back in September, and have kept a pretty low profile at their New York home since.

Well, after being named one of GQ‘s “Men of the Year” AND even snagging a cover, the Deadpool star opened up a bit about his relationship with the actress. Revealing when he knew she was “the one”, Ryan joked:

“Probably after the sex.”

Ha!
He continued on a more serious tone, dishing:

“No, we were hanging out at this little restaurant in Tribeca that’s open really late, and this song came on and I was just like, ‘Want to dance?’ No one was in there, so it was just totally empty. And it was just one of those moments where halfway through the dance, it was like, ‘Oh, I think I just crossed a line.’ And then I walked her home. And, uh, you know, I don’t really need to go into what happened after that.”

How romantic!
Unfortunately for fans, the actor wouldn’t dish the song playing at the time, but we hope this couple still finds time to dance even with two tots at home!
And while Ryan didn’t share any details about his family, he did add:

“I’m on the precipice of having a real American family. I mean, I always imagined that would happen, and then it happened. Every idiotic Hallmark-card clich├â┬⌐ is true.”

He’s a lucky guy!
Also during his interview, Reynolds revealed his secret battle with anxiety after filming Deadpool:

“When [filming Deadpool] ├»┬¼┬ünally ended, I had a little bit of a nervous breakdown. I literally had the shakes. I went to go see a doctor because I felt like I was suffering from a neurological problem or something. And every doctor I saw said, ‘You have anxiety.'”

He explained:

“I say this with the caveat that I completely recognize the ridiculously fortunate position that I am in. But the attention is hard on your nervous system├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥that might be why I live out in the woods. And I was banging the loudest drum for Deadpool. I wasn’t just trying to open it; I was trying to make a cultural phenomenon.”

Read on for even MORE HIGHlights from his GQ editorial:

On being content: “My baseline’s pretty good, I think, aside from a few pretty intense anxiety hiccups over my life. I wouldn’t say I’m quantifiably happier now than I was when I lived in my sh*thole studio apartment on Wilcox in Hollywood. I’m also old enough to understand what’s an illusion and what’s real, and that it’s foolish to try to think that I can control anything from here on out.” On repairing his relationship with his late father: “I had a rough ten-year patch with my father. So we were estranged. Now we’re really estranged. But I actually had that sort of epic moment that only happens in ├»┬¼┬ülms, where I saw him before he died and closed the loop as much as I could.”
