Ryan Reynolds’ Interesting Longtime Connection To Justin Baldoni's Former Podcast Host Revealed

It turns out Ryan Reynolds has a history with someone close to Justin Baldoni!

Remember Liz Plank? She hosted The Man Enough Podcast with Justin and producer Jamey Heath. However, the journalist left the show in December 2024, right after Blake Lively accused the 40-year-old director of sexually harassing her on the set of It Ends With Us. Liz made it very clear she was on Team Blake, stating she planned to “continue to support everyone who calls out injustice and holds the people standing in their way accountable.” Check out her statement (below) for a refresher:

The news was shocking at the time! It was also pretty damning for Justin since his friend and co-worker jumped ship following the allegations! We mean, for someone who knew him personally to instantly buy the allegations? Not a good look.

But internet sleuths have now figured out an interesting fact about Liz… She knows Ryan, too! She has for years! It appears their relationship started in 2019. In August of that year, the Deadpool & Wolverine star showed support for Liz’s book For the Love of Men: A New Vision for Mindful Masculinity, posting a pic of the cover on Instagram Stories. Liz then shared the post on Facebook, saying:

“thank you ryan freaking reynolds (via Ryan Reynolds)”

But apparently this social media shoutout developed into a friendship! In 2021, she attended the premiere of his movie Free Guy. They even took a picture together on the red carpet! See it HERE! Afterward, Liz praised the actor on X (Twitter), writing:

“#FreeGuy is like if a movie was an anti-depressant, such a wholesome kindhearted film that leaves you feeling better about yourself and more hopeful about the world. The worst part was @VancityReynolds making me laugh, then ugly cry, and then confusingly ugly laugh cry.”

And there’s more! Liz also appeared in his documentary series Welcome to Wrexham! In an episode called Wromance, which aired on October 12, 2022, she talked to Wrexham A.F.C. club owners Ryan and Rob McElhenney about their bromance after their hug at the FA Trophy final went viral. At the time, the author posted a video from the series and thanked Ryan again, saying:

“thank you @vancityreynolds and @robmcelhenney for letting me psychoanalyze you and talk about men’s butts on tv. Please go watch the last few episodes of @wrexhamfx it’s such a wholesome and profoundly moving show that’s about so much more than football @maximumeffort @frankandoak”

Check out the clip from the show (below):

Wow…

Reactions to their connection, Perezcious readers? Did you know all this when Liz left the podcast? Hmm. Sound OFF in the comments!
