Alexander McQueen creative director Sarah Burton did the unthinkable — she lied right to Anna Wintour‘s face.
Vogue‘s editor-at-large Hamish Bowles says it all went down last year when everyone was speculating over who would be designing Kate Middleton‘s wedding gown:
“Anna looked Sarah in the eye ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ an experience that would jelly the marrow of bigger people ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ and asked, ‘Are you designing Kate Middleton├óΓé¼Γäós dress?’ and Sarah said, ‘I am not designing the dress.’ So Anna was telling everyone, ‘Sarah told me she├óΓé¼Γäós not doing the dress, so she├óΓé¼Γäós not doing the dress.’ Now Anna admits Sarah did an amazing job.”
What a brave soul!
Hamish also revealed the white dresses from the McQueen A/W 2011 collection was a cover up for the super covert design operation going on inside Buckingham Palace.
