Sarah Michelle Gellar is saying goodbye to her onscreen sister Michelle Trachtenberg.
As you know, the 39-year-old actress was found dead by her mom at her apartment in New York City on Wednesday morning. The cause of death is unknown, but reports claimed she recently had a liver transplant and may have suffered from complications. Since the news of her passing broke, fans, celebrities, and her former co-stars have been paying tribute to Michelle on social media. This includes Sarah.
On Thursday, the Cruel Intentions star took to Instagram to mourn the loss of her Buffy the Vampire Slayer co-star. Prepare to break out your tissues, Perezcious readers. This one is emotional. Sarah posted several pictures of their time together on the beloved series, writing in the caption:
“Michelle, listen to me. Listen. I love you. I will always love you. The hardest thing in this world, is to live in it. I will be brave. I will live… for you.

You can see the post HERE. Fans may recognize parts of the caption. It is a similar quote to what Sarah’s character Buffy Summer told her little sister Dawn Summers, portrayed by Michelle, when she sacrificed herself during the Season 5 finale:
“Dawn, the hardest thing in the world is to live in it. Be brave. Live — for me.”
