SNL’s Secret Audition For Black Female Cast Members Was All Just A Publicity Stunt?!

Please, please, PLEASE let this not be true!!!
Earlier this week, word spread that Saturday Night Live was holding auditions in Los Angeles in an attempt to try and find a MUCH needed black woman to join the cast of NBC’s late night staple, which celebrated its 39th season this year.
Above is a picture of some of the talented and funny females who were brought in for the chance of a lifetime – to audition for SNL creator Lorne Michaels! Only problem, Lorne wasn├óΓé¼Γäót even there!
So was this audition legit or was this tryout sesh all just smoke and mirrors?!
Comedian Tiffany Haddish was one of the lucky few invited to the Groundlings Theater that day but she says the whole event was horse sh*t! Tiffany explained:

├óΓé¼┼ôThey already know who they want. They├óΓé¼Γäóre just wasting all these black women’s time and gas money.├óΓé¼┬¥

Well, here’s the thing. While we weren’t there to see just how these auditions went down, it wouldn’t be unheard of if Lorne wasn’t there for Round 1. That’s why the show has more than one producer.
Also, they have a live show this Saturday. Mr. Michaels doesn’t have time to fly across the country for this. We’re guessing that those moving on for callbacks in New York will be standing in front of him on the Studio 8H floor very soon though!
Finally, if this was really just a trick to try and quiet critics who say SNL is lacking in diversity, it would never work! Because auditioning black women and hiring them aren’t the same thing. Until Don Pardo shouts out the name of a new cast member, the problem still VERY much exists!
Best of luck in getting the gig though, Tiffany!
