Savannah Chrisley & Boyfriend Nic Kerdiles End Engagement -- But They're Still Dating! Here's Why...

Savannah Chrisley and boyfriend call off engagement

So much for walking down the aisle: Savannah Chrisley is straight up running from it!

The Chrisley Knows Best star revealed she and former fiancé Nic Kerdiles have called off their engagement after postponing their wedding last month — but, they are still dating! Huh!?

The 22-year-old explained to Us Weekly on Wednesday while promoting the new season of her family’s reality show:

“I mean we’ve gone back to dating. So that’s kind of where we’re at now. [We’re] just taking some time to figure out ourselves.”

The Georgia native said it’s been a particularly chaotic time for them both, as her hockey player boyfriend is dealing with a career transition and the two are navigating the coronavirus pandemic along with the rest of the world.

She added:

“I think right now it’s a lot of focusing on us individually, because I’m a firm believer that if you’re not good to yourself you can’t be good for anyone else… Right now we’re working on becoming the best versions of ourselves.”

A couple that works on themselves individually, stays together, we guess? Savannah went on to admit that she and Nic have “had a lot of challenging conversations” that has forced them “to know better and do better and there’s just a lot of learning going on.”

To be clear, Chrisley is not talking about the “challenging conversations” people are having around the globe about systemic racism and privilege: she’s talking about pumping the brakes on the road to marriage. She explained of the 2019 proposal:

“At first we got wrapped up into the whole, you know, ‘Oh, we got engaged. Now we have to get married soon.’ You know, we kind of put that pressure on ourselves and we definitely got a lot of pressure from everyone else. We just had to finally take a second to step and say, ‘OK, what’s best for us?’ And we just realized that we kind of rushed into things really fast and we still had a lot of learning and growing to do.”

Thankfully, fans will get to see these tough conversations play out in the new season of the USA Network show.

Todd Chrisley‘s daughter (not the one who claimed he extorted her –that’s Lindsie Chrisley) shared:

“I think we definitely go into detail about everything and just how unique of a relationship that Nic and I have, and how we’re not really following the rule book if you want to say, or the playbook. We’re kind of just doing things how we want to do them and what we feel is best for us.”

While she and Kerdiles are no longer planning their wedding, that could very well change once the world is in less of a pandemic.

The starlet added:

“I think right now, with the whole COVID thing, I feel like this is our new normal for quite some time and I believe that everything happens for a reason. God has got a plan and that’s what I’m trusting in. I’m truly leaning into my faith and I believe everything happens for a reason and when that time is right, I will know.”

A Chrisley always knows!

Ch-ch-check out the Season 8 of Chrisley Knows Best Thursday, July 9 on USA Network at 9 p.m. EST.
