Savannah Guthrie Speaks Out On The ‘5 Months Of Agony’ & ‘Unending Trauma’ Since Mom Nancy’s Kidnapping

Savannah Guthrie is reflecting on the “unending trauma” she’s been experiencing ever since her mother was kidnapped.

July 1 sadly marked five months since Nancy Guthrie was abducted from her Tucson, Arizona home at 84 years old. And it’s been complete “agony” for her daughter, the Today show host, ever since. On Wednesday, Savannah told KOLD 13 News:

“It is five months of agony and unending trauma for our family. There is not a moment that goes by that we aren’t actively trying to find our mom.”

How completely devastating. We can’t even begin to fathom what this has been like for them…

Savannah went on to thank everyone involved in searching for her missing mother:

“We thank the people of Tucson for holding her in their hearts, as well as both the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department for their tireless work on behalf of our family. Bring her home.”

We hope one day there will FINALLY be answers.

Most recently, we’ve been following the ongoing mystery surrounding the ransom notes multiple outlets received after Nancy’s disappearance. Initially, the FBI claimed the notes were not legitimate, but they quickly changed their tune. The FBI Phoenix revealed on Wednesday:

“The FBI and its task force partners have received several ransom notes over the course of this investigation. Some have been deemed to be extortion attempts without legitimacy. Other ransom demands may potentially be legitimate and are still being investigated as such. This case continues to be investigated as a kidnapping for ransom case. The FBI has and will continue to offer all assistance possible in the investigation — however local authorities remain the lead.”

Our hearts continue to be with the Guthrie family.
