Here we go! The wheels are turning!
Despite Hoda Kotb being rumored as of late to be Ann Curry‘s successor when she’s booted from The Today Show, sources close to production have revealed that it is Savannah Guthrie, whose name has been thrown around since the get-go, who will be taking on the job…and could be starting as early as THIS WEEK!
However, while Guthrie has already made her deal with the network and is ready to go, the suits and lawyers are still apparently waging war over Ann’s pay-out – hence, the delay in the announcement!
Insiders explain that as Ann is only in her first of a three year contract, during which she’s supposed to make $10 million every 12 months, but NBC does not want to give her the left-over $20 million, and instead just give her a foreign correspondent position!
The other option is that she DOES receive the money, but she’s not allowed to take a new job for the next two years!
Yeesh! This sounds messy!
Hopefully the lawyers will be able to haggle all of this out and come to a resolution quickly, before it gets too ugly!
NBC’s gonna need SOMEONE in that chair before the Olympics get going this summer!
What do U think?? Are U sad to see Ann go or U excited for Savannah??
