Sean Penn & Oliver Stone Mourn Loss Of Hugo Chavez

Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez died on Tuesday, and while he had many detractors in his own country and in the U.S., there is one place where he found support — Hollywood.
Well, part of Hollywood…
Sean Penn was a well-known Chavez supporter who paints the man with a heroic brush in his statement of mourning. He says:

“Today the people of the United States lost a friend it never knew it had. And poor people around the world lost a champion.
I lost a friend I was blessed to have. My thoughts are with the family of President Chavez and the people of Venezuela.”

But like the headline says, Sean isn’t the only Hollywood heavyweight who is mourning the leader’s loss. Filmmaker Oliver Stone says:

“I mourn a great hero to the majority of his people and those who struggle throughout the world for a place. Hated by the entrenched classes, Hugo Chavez will live forever in history.
My friend, rest finally in a peace long earned”

We may not have felt the same way about Chavez, but it always hurts to see how someone’s death has affected friends and loved ones.
We can only hope all those in mourning will find their own peace in this.
